Re: Oz Day
A very enjoyable Australia Day aboard Bruce and Wendy's new house boat .... lotta room on this one.
As far as which date Australia day should be celebrated, maybe when we first adopted a constitution would be a good date, but May isn't quite BBQ weather eh
When we became a federation? Jan 1 would be swallowed up by those still suffering from New Yrs Eve, but I would extend the holiday period. The 26th doesn't actually match up with any date involving the first fleet landing at Sydney Cove, that was said to be some where around the 18th, but the original landing in Farm cove was a week or more before that, so does the 26th actually represent a factual event another race calls Invasion day? Do they have a day/date they accept as the anniversary of them invading another races lands and killing them all?

Enjoy yourselfs and have a great one. Very humid here by 10am so the cricket and aircon won out along side the red.
Believe we should keep the day Terry as it represents all, Australians.

Re: Oz Day
Been overcast, very humid & trying to rain here all day but that hasn't stopped heaps of folk enjoying many types of water sports, we have about 12 boats tucked along the northern shore for the night, starting to cool down.

A few jumps into the water worked wonders for lowering the body temp, even though the water was warm not cold. Used a lot of huff and puff from multiple volunteers to blow up the tube so we had something to cling to cause I don't seem to float near as well as I once did
