I'm not saying dumping grey water is a good or bad thing and the problem as I see it is you cannot police what additives (soap, detergents, disinfectants etc) are in the water. All I can say is that Greg and I parked our caravan on the dust of his mums front yard for nearly two years while he was her carer until she died, and we moved the hose around every other day...by the time we left there was a lush lawn in the front...which helped to sell the house! However, I am paranoid about what we use when washing, showering, cleaning etc ..everything has to be environmentally safe. We can't be sure others are doing likewise. So the rules should be for everyone.
Cheers
Dee

I for one would not want smelly grey water dumped close to me no matter where I am. Unless your grey water is not smelly? If it is, please let me know how you get rid of the smell!

You leave the valve open and don't store it - if you're somewhere appropriate. It won't get smelly.

How do you know it was grey water, Did you taste it ???
I've noticed many vanners & MH campers release excess fresh water when leaving camp.
I for 1 like to release excess fresh water before hitting the road.

Re: Grey water grubs
[quote="Jim"]So where do we email to advise when we see a caravanner running his/her grey water straight on to the ground? I have seen this many times...even camped on the side of a river, there's the grey making it's way into the system.
But are you sure that they were CMCA members? How did you know?
Jim I think if you really do wish to be an accepted member of this huge group of people who travel, explore, camp, and otherwise enjoy the huge expanse of this country then may I suggest you may need to mellow a little in your ways?
To run and dob in every person or group that appear to be doing something wrong may just be your undoing one day.
Have you ever tried a tap tap on the door and make a friendly suggestion?

Re: Grey water grubs
When we were in Tassie in 2007 a few of the parks were as dry as the Sahara and the park operators were more than happy to have grey water run onto the garden areas, all they asked was that people keep food scraps from exiting via the sink etc. onto the ground.
Even after three weeks of this in various parks across Tassie we never once had a problem with a smelly site.
