In reality, if any of the AFL players were to try real football (NRL) they'd need a fleet of ambulances and stretcher bearers just for the training games.
That's not real football, they rarely kick the ball. It's just a bunch of drunken drug addicted thugs, bashing each other. Real football is soccer, with AFL next, then rugby, NRL and gridiron a distance last.
You don't watch much NRL by the sound of that NP. They have to kick the ball after a max of 5 tackles but often kick it a lot earlier. The level of skill and speed of the game these days doesn't leave any room for anything but athletes in prime condition. They don't all stand back because someone caught the ball, they are not allowed to tackle them before their feet touch the ground but once that has happened they need to be either very fast on their feet or quick to pass the ball or brace themselves for what comes next.
As far as Soccer being real football, method acting comes to mind every time I see a player collapse from the slightest tap. It might be a game predominantly played by kicking the ball, but real football has a lot more skill levels involved than just kicking a ball.

Actually was involved in the startup of the Raiders, played at their original small clubrooms and fund raisers. Followed them for years when based in NSW/ACT, played fullback in NRL down the sth coast NSW for 1 season, but the injuries were effecting my playing, so had to stop. Then they started AFL, played and coached an AFL side down there.

Still watch nrl at times, but it's very boring, simple and thuggish. The only skill is, how much you can injure your opponents, how drunk you can get and how many women you've abused. I don't find it an acceptable sport now and according to my information, clubs are losing the young to soccer and AFL rapidly. Parents are sick of their kids being beaten up on the sports field. You've only got to look at the empty stadiums compared to soccer and AFL, to see it's dying and only propped up by the TV.

Used to enjoy the game, especially the way the Raiders used to play. Today, the most skillful team is the Storm and even they have become thugs and dropped the tactical skills they used to have. Were I played, the comp is on it's last legs, soccer and AFL have taken over. It's the same in lots of rural areas in NSW, we used to play for nrl clubs after games in the local pubs. Now we are playing more for AFL and soccer clubs, especially in the Riverina.

Can't stand soccer, very boring, but love watching the Matilda's play, they make the blokes look like amateur wimps.

AFL by a long way Dot, soccer is feet and head only. AFL you use every part of your body to play the game and they don't ponce round, take dives, or have riots in the stadiums like mens soccer does every where.

Irish Fire Insurance

A man and his wife moved back home to Cork , from London.

The wife had a wooden leg and to insure it in Britain was £2000.00 a year!

When they arrived in Cork, they went to an Insurance agency to see how much it would cost to insure the wooden leg.

The agent looked it up on the computer and said to the couple, '€39.00.'

The husband was shocked and asked why it was so cheap here in Ireland to insure, because it cost him £2000.00 in England!

The agent turned his computer screen to the couple and said, 'Well, here it is on the screen, it says: *Any wooden structure, with a sprinkler system over it, is €39.00.*'
