Are guitar players aloud to jam with ukes.
NO They must play lightly

If you think jamming with some guitar players drowns out the uke then you should try jamming with a couple of banjo players like I do regularly.

I could bring my Baritone horn and that can create some noise for you and very aloud if I want to. HAHA

It's not unusual to see a huge range of instruments in a jam session at some of the Festivals we go to.
Wind, string, percussion and lost of home made stuff as well.
Cigar Box Guitars/Ukuleles are becoming very common as well. 1,2,3,4,6 strings, anything goes with home builds.

Took a few very short lessons from a Uke teacher at Stone The Crows on his baritone Uke that was strung as a normal Uke yet had a deeper more mellow note and enough room between the strings to pick it as well as strum it. Had a bit of a go at it and it felt comfortable where the Tiny Tim size units feel like a kids toy when you have long arms like me, us knuckle draggers need that extra bit of wooden box and fence postLance wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 4:53 pm Terry, a Baritone is a different type all together.
They are tuned DGBE, the same as the top four strings of a guitar whereas a Uke is GCEA.
A Baritone can be tuned as a Uke but the strings need to be replaced due to pitch.

I used to play with this drummer once and he was very very aloud aloud ,and that's why i'm deef.
what if he wanted to jam ,would have to give him a pair of brushes.

Terry, have you tried a tenor uke?T1 Terry wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 2:52 pmTook a few very short lessons from a Uke teacher at Stone The Crows on his baritone Uke that was strung as a normal Uke yet had a deeper more mellow note and enough room between the strings to pick it as well as strum it. Same tuning as tiny tims, but definitely more manageable, with a lovely mellow tone, no squeeky sounds. This is my preferred uke to play, but then I haven't had the experience of a baritone one. I am imagining that the baritone would be similar in size to a guitar? If so, then a guitar would be my choice, but I went for the tenor uke because it fits easier into the van over my guitar.
Lets be happy to just make some music some time.

Debroah, I have 3 Tenor ukes, the concert size didn't give me enough room between the frets for my bent fingers.
Anne can comfortably play both Concert and Saprano sizes but finds the Tenor a bit bulky.
Not a lot of difference in overall size but I guess it does feel different.
