Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
Hey Dottie!
The bums ... sorry, BOYS in Lycra are back on... SBS tomorrow night at 8:30pm... (That’s AEST — probably 8:00 CST. “Check your local TV guide.”)
Gotcher binoculars ready? 🤭

Wouldn’t mind riding DOWN that mountain... but UP!?!?
Probbly when I was 17 and riding road races, yes. Now I’m an Old Codger, no way!
BTW, What did you think of the moving placards display?

Yes I am watching between eye closures, beautiful scenery to boot. Just starting to hit the 36k mark How on earth do they keep going up those little hills? Should get interesting now. Froooommeee will start to do his thing in the next day or so.

They ride in teams now Dottie so not much strain for much of the trip. They ride at a casual pace most of the day. In the old days you were handicapped and rode for yourself and over 100 miles and it was all go. No feeding stations or water drops etc, you carried what you could and when you run out if you could not swap you went without. I rode longer distance on the weekend day for training. 210 miles on Saturday was common and 125 miles on sunday after the morning race.
Them were the days, my old man would not allow me to carry water while training to get me used to running out of water and in summer no shirt or hat to get use to the heat. would average nearly 30 miles and hour and thats up and down hills and some pretty good as well. Not sure how the big boys would go if they had to ride the whole day as a pursuit race to see who was the best.
12 × 5 house boat moored at the present in Mannum Waters Marina.
Converting to LiFePo4 for float alone status
Yeah Brian and they even have gears now days & are allowed to get a shove from the team cars!!!
I used to put cardboard held with a peg that used to 'rattle' the spokes & pretend it was a motorbike!

Not to mention those wussy helmets!
Our club didn’t use them for road races.
And on the velodrome we used ones made of leather tubes filled with horsehair!
Remember them?
Ah, kids today...
