Re: Roberts Move to SA
Placed an offer on a house in Adelaide, yard a bit small and the shed but we are down sizing. Room and seperate access for the caravan with double carport and trailer space. Place had been on the market for 52 days with no offers. Done some research and advice from a friend in R.E. And when the agent called the next day gave our offer.
The agent rung yesterday to say they had two other offers and he doughted the owners would accept ours. I Thought it was strange that a property that had been on the maket that long with no offers would sudenly receive three offers on the same day. So we keep looking.
On the good side we negotiated with one of the movers and received 28 days free storage so that is one our way.
If no house plan B will be put in place (B = bugger if I know what we will do ) I think it will involve a purchasing a bigger van and finding somewhere to park up till we have a house. Any way still packing so we are moving ahead.
Cheers Robert

Hang in there Robert. Give them a few days for you to 'weaken' and once they realize you are sticking to your guns they might have second thoughts.
Maybe get a friend to go look at it & offer $10,000 less than you?

Hi Bruce working on that one but still a bit amazed at agents down there. Spoke to couple of different ones and explained what we were after and said we have the cash and this is the settlement date we are looking at and they do not get gack to you.
No problems I know caravan salesmen will not let us slip when we go looking. Cheers

Re: Roberts Move to SA
Our house sale has now gone unconditional and also informed a house we had been looking at before has now come back on the market as a condition of the contract was not meet. This property was better than the one we made a offer on last week. Cost more but would be happy if we did get it. Cheers Robert

Re: Roberts Move to SA
Another win yesterday, managed to lock in one of the main stream movers to a price lower than the Adelaide subcontactor for our up lift of goods. Also scored 28 days free storage in Adelaide if required and taking insurance ourselves through a specialising insurer we save $3,000 on what the moving copanies were quoting. Robert

Banks can you trust them no,no,no would use other words but Bruce would have work to do. Every time you get set they change the goal post on you. We have just had a week of hell with ours because we use our home as surity against the property in the NT.
Was to be a simple morgrage transfer from this house to the new one, no monies owed here just in the NT which is a rental property. Had to take the phone off the wife the other day before they decided to forclose on us she is NOT HAPPY JANE.
So now we will wait and see what they come up with next bl**dy ———————— ( insert word ).
And my doctor wonders why I like my red wine. Cheers Robert

Re: Roberts Move to SA
Hi. Had much the same trouble here when we sold one of our properties. Had a small mortgage we wanted to hold onto with both properties involved. Thought they would just release the one we were selling as the other property was worth ten times the money we owed. Had to try to negotiate with an Asian lady over the phone as there isn't a manager in the bank anymore. Apart from not being able to understand her, she had no idea about fruit properties and water rights. She wanted to cancel the mortgage and start from base one and reapply and of course everything had to be done through her to a Sydney address. After holding up the settlement for three months I payed the mortgage off and cleared the title. Now looking at a credit union at Berri that I have heard are very good and still have a manager you can talk to.
The banks make it so hard to work with them that the consumer eventually leaves and goes somewhere else like a credit union and then they say there is not enough people using the branch so they close it.
Hope you can get it sorted. Cheers John
