Re battery testing and reporting, I've had several fair and accurate ASSESMENTS AT THE LOCAL bATTERY WORLD, OF ALL PLACES.
i WAS SCEPTICAL AT FIRST FOR THE OBVIOUS REASONS BUT THEY'VE CHECKED SEVERAL BATTERIES FOR ME OVER THE YEARS AND AS YET THEY HAVEN'T FOUND A 'FAULTY' ONE.

The worst for reports are the road service ppl, RACV etc. They talk crap.

Had an Amaron battery in May's Magna, got 9 years out of that one, bloody unbelievable, pretty hard to come by though, they only import them from the states when the dollar is up there.

I would say age has done em in, Reckon they are around 5 yrs old? As some of you know Gman believes what ever he is told by most salesmen so I reckon he got done. I was wondering if the known brand names" are the way to go? or do the "unknown" ones have the same goods but different name tags? Going to get him to take them to the tyre / battery place tomorrow and they can have a look at them to see what they think of them????

Take the bathroom scales if you are measuring Ah capacity of a lead acid battery. 100Ah @ 12v of lead acid battery weighs 32kg, they don't make light weight lead so if it ways less than 32kg it is not 100Ah capacity.
