This will be a long Question.........
I tried to ask the question at work, through my small private life, but they do not have what we have.(Motorhome, live in caravan etc) so the result was more confused than an answer. I will start with my story first:
Many years ago there was a forum where I/WE where know as "WAYNE&ADELE". Then things changed but were I went I?We were known as 'WAYNE&ADELE". We named our home "NANA'S RETREAT" Why because I used it for work, and Adele after doing NANA duties would then catch up were ever I was to then recharge her self.
Unfortunately Adele passed away nearly two years ago,so thanks to Bruce in the understanding and changing the name.It is easy to change the home name, BUT this is where I need your friendship input. Above the door we have .... Wayne & Adele at a 45 deg angle.
Yes there is probable 2 homes in my life that matter, this is one because I am keeping this motorhome.
So how do I go about addressing the above door, Due to Adele's extreme input (super) I would like to keep her memory so I'm slightly distressed about this situation, do I add (2016 after Adele's name??????? OCT2016????? Uncomfortable just removing all
I am very sorry if this causes any distress to any forum members, but than again you my have the answer through your own suffering or feelings.
With the best wishes and thanks for your reply's
Wayne

Re: A Question to my Forum Family
Wayne, I've never met you or Adele but she and this motorhome obviously mean so much to you.
Personally I think I'd leave things just the way they are.
You have lots of memories to carry with you, let 'Adele' continue on the ride as well

Re: A Question to my Forum Family
Wayne, you could add a little RIP after Adele, I'm sure then that most people would then understand without the need for a question.
When you are ready, you will know what you should do.

Re: A Question to my Forum Family
Yes David. Maybe a smaller RIP 2016 with a little heart with an arrow thru it?
Probably seems heartless 'out there' enjoying yourself Wayne but I betcha that's exactly what Adele would want you to be doing.
Are you still cooking in the camp Wayne?
Anytime you have time off scheduled you're very welcome down our way. (Wendy needs a rest!!)

Re: A Question to my Forum Family
What a lovely question - in the sense of love and ongoing feelings about people we still care for.
I think the "RIP" is a beautiful idea and will minimise any uninvited questions.
Maybe a little thoughtful message or etched picture might be comforting too??

Re: A Question to my Forum Family
Hiyu Wayne,
I think you know the answer way deep down in side ,but maybe you think others may not agree with you, as I say "stuff em" go with what makes you feel good. Personally I wouldn't change a thing as the wording is part of your adventures and that included Adele. If you feel that maybe an "explanation" of the maybe asked question "where is your wife?" then I think the little R.I.P. is enough explanation .

Re: A Question to my Forum Family
I would Like to thank you all for kind replies, and yes I had the feeling of '' Rip 2016 with heart". Thanks Bruce for the offer but my cooking skills are not that good. I help out at the kitchen doing prep work but mainly do the dirty work, 'wash/clean'. On my week off I have been occasionally been known to use paper plates soo I don't have to wash up. Salad and dare I say it(SORRY DOT) steak/salmon and a glass of red/white to wash it down is my luxury lunch. Never thought I would lose interest in a baked dinner every second day. Now out to the Lake and do so more repairs, thank you all again!

Re: A Question to my Forum Family
Wayne,
My 5'er is called "Pet-els" everyone calls me either Peter or Petels.
Pet-els comes from "Peter and Elsie" my departed wife, we used this name on our boat and caravan while she was with me.
I can see NO reason to change that.

Re: A Question to my Forum Family
Hi Peter (Petels: thats what I mainly know you by anyway),
It was either here or at Bundy that I heard the above story. My heart felt problem is the bus is called "nana's retreat". Nana I could change with no real problem(hay You give in sometimes because the smile was HUGE when it went on), but the names above the entry to our/ now my home is to me a different matter. But the family here(yer I know I'm mainly a lurker) but when you want outside knowledge I HAVE FOUND IT HERE. Sound stupid not really because sometimes my question is already there and been answered.Thank you
