Hi Folks a bit more of our adventures , After 5 weeks over in Scamander we are now back at our Nephew and niece's place .
They flew out of Devonport airport last Friday to Melbourne then to leave for the USA on Saturday morning....that's when the shite hit the fan , upon arrival at Melbourne they were told that all UA flight worldwide had been grounded , so me being me I checked I have a flight tracking software on my laptop two actually . And low and behold they were flying in other parts of the world...they were given no info what ever , so after calls to the organiser's of the trip they found themselves on a Virgin flight so all was good again ...to a degree...
Enough of them...It has rained since they left so everything is sodden...including me...
Yesterday we decided on going up to Waratah what ever , but before that I had appointment with the Doc for blood tests and renew scripts Carol also...for the scrips that is..
So off we went to Waratah it rained all the way plus log trucks everywhere . But with my exceptional driving skills we made it anyway .
Waratah was a bit of a downer nothing open , time around 11.30am not even the pub which we had planned for lunch...bugga....I hadn't eaten since the night before being a fasting blood test...I tell you my tongue was hanging out for a beer...steak in everyone I believe ?
So with nowhere to eat we left after the must do photo shoot...There is a waterfall in the middle of town , as you can see in the pics it wasn't as warm as it could be ....around 5Degs . Carol can testify to that .
Well we made a bee line to Wynyard and went to the wharf hotel for lunch..I had rib fillet and Carol had prawn fetterchine (probably the wrong spel
ling) . And a beer...hehe ...I must add we are not pub goes' we hadn't had a pub meal since we were in Tungamah Victoria around 5 months ago .
Now the most exciting part of the trip was about to happen , we had made arrangements to catch up with fellow fomite TassyJim and his lovely wife Jennene , coffee and a chat in order...was great to meet another member and put a face to a name ..And find out about other skills he had , Jim would put most builder's to shame with his workmanship he's a perfectionist . Thanks for letting us into you home Jim and Jennene ..
So after our visit it was off back home to Nephew's picked up the scripts on the way . And straight into another storm and blackouts OH the fun of it ..

Bernie .

It was good to meet you and Carol but you could have chosen a better day to see the view.

We had to let the dogs loose to get them to leave.

We been doing stuff Dot !
I'm baby sitting my nephews place while he and his wife (my niece) are away in that Big USA place .
Presently they are at the Grand Canyon .
It has rained every day since they left yesterday was the first day of sunshine . WackO...
When they get back we will resume our holiday to the southern parts of Tassie .
We still have one more "farm" sit o do down near Hobart its only for 12 days .
We will get a chance to go to Richmond where my Dad was born and take some photo's in the Catholic cemetery of long departed relative's head stones . This is for my brother at his request . And there are no convicts , knowing me who would believe that.... haha .
We are also waiting for a good snowfall at Cradle Mountain , Carol has yet to see snow , I look at the live cam at the mountain each day in anticipation but so far there has only been light snow , we are less than one hour from the mountain via the back roads from here .
We can see snow on top of some of the mountains from here but they are inaccessible by car . Even for the mighty SUSIE .

Well folks it finally happened..it snowed at Cradle Mountain .....bloody bewdy..
Yesterday after 4 weeks of watching the webcam at Cradle Mountain I could see snow .
So off we went , this was the first time Carol has been in snow especially as it was coming down
After doing a couple off the short walks we headed to the café at the ranger station , And having a window seat watching the snow fall was a special treat for both of us as we enjoyed lunch ..
But since getting back to nephews farm it hasn't stopped raining . No game to move the bus yet the grounds just too wet .

The snowball ended up just where it was meant to didn't it Carol? I bet the snow falling while you sat in the café was a lovely sight. Continue to enjoy.

A late thanks Dot Carol missed with the snowball. But unfortunately for me her aim got better as the day progressed .

A cuppla of day back we went exploring again , this time to the Deloraine area , Ended up out at Mole Creek .
There is a native animal sanctuary near there so we went in to check it out .
They have lots of Tassie Devils there all free of the facial cancer and the do a breeding program for release into areas where there is no cancer . Also have a Wombat breeding program as well . They also have a handful of Wedge tail eagles all from the results of car impact . So unfortunately they wont get back to the wild , but at least they are alive .
There was snow above on the Western Tiers but we didn't go up .
Looked at some land for sale as well .??
After touring around the country side we ended back at Deloraine for lunch . And would you believe we had no rain on the day...till we got back to Upper Castra .
A cuppla pic's from the days travel

The captions came out wrong but you can figure it out .
