Mark my words Phil .... you'll regret those words! (big time!)
This is SA you know.?? Wet cold winters & hot dry summers.
Even Sept /Oct can get a good downpour.

Re: Want Some More Rain
Phil, shoulda bought a place with a river out the front, then you got lots of water complete with a good dose of Qld topsoil mixed in
Just gotta figure out now how to extract the top soil from the bottom of the water tanks and put it on the rockeries that they think are garden beds here in SA

Re: Want Some More Rain
Terry run one of those bottom sucktion pool cleaners inside your tank. That is how some mobs back in Qld clean them out. Might lose a bit of water but you have a clean tank and good soil. Cheers Robert

Re: Want Some More Rain
Thought about that Robert and might look into the whole process including the centrifugal filter to separate the heavier items before the finer filter and pump the water back into the tank. Then I can extract the soil from the filters and add that to the gardens while using the wash water to give them a drink at the same time.RobertNotBob wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 1:24 pm Terry run one of those bottom sucktion pool cleaners inside your tank. They use the water pressure to drive themselves around don't they?

Believe so Terry just operate through the pool pump. What you described is how one of our local blokes cleaned the tanks.

Re: Want Some More Rain
Put a bid in for a few S/H bits on evilbay so not a big outlay if it doesn't work and a great item if it does. The rain water tanks collect all the topsoil on the move across the roof so I could have it working on them as well so if it works it will be busyRobertNotBob wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 3:21 pm Believe so Terry just operate through the pool pump.
