Not Quambatook, didn't know they had a free camp there or a strong pro free camper/low cost camper community spirit there. As for the other 2 suggestions, I guess it depends on how fast that hump back bridge is crossed or how fast you travel up any Victorian highway
This place is a well known and well set up by the locals for free camping. It is in Victoria by a river yet right in town.

Terry a bit of trivia....
The previous owners of the Pink Panther Houseboat bought an Avan when they sold the boat. Took off on an around Aussie adventure, got to Charlton, stayed at the Caravan Park/camping area. The got talked into running the park for 12 months.
Unfortunately 6mths into it the wife had a VERY bad stroke. Not a lot of hope for full recovery & is now in high care in the facility in Mannum.
