Try replacing the fan with a mag Lev fan from Jaycar. These are the fans we use on the tunnel heatsink because they are so quiet yet have a very long life. The fans on the charger for my PHEV Prius are so noisy they keep Margaret awake and the car is out in the carport and the fans are inside the car  I've bought the new fans, just need time to fit them.

Graham I think fans are measured hole to hole mostly. 40 X 40 or 80 X 80 for the big suckers or blowers!
