Hi folks this is the last and finale post on our latest adventure .
We left home on the 30/1/2018 and arrived back home on the 12/9/2018 , the longest trip away from home that we had ever done .
The bus travelled 3970 kilometres and the car travelled 7676 kilometres , the car odometer doesn't read when under tow so in reality the car travelled much more . The bus averaged 4.5 Ks per litre , I didn't bother doing the car as it would have been a pain in the butt doing the maths but normally I get 10Ks the litre in the car . The bus calc's are not really correct as there is still 3/4 tank of diesel in the bus (its a 200 lt tank) .
We has some great times down in Tassie . Carol finally got to play in the snow for the first time . WE met some great people including TassieJim and his wife Jennene , and caught up with friends of Kay and Lesley's as well .
The weather wasn't kind to us we encounted plenty of rain and was told it was a unusually wet winter this year .
The 5 weeks we stayed at Scamander the weather was great , But as normal in some areas they were after rain as they had not received enough through the summer . I don't think winter in Tassie is on the a gender for some time into the future according to you know who .?
The last 5 weeks it rained most days and Carol was not only getting home sick she was suffering with her knees and ankle's . Being stuck in the bus and not being able to walk wasn't helping matters . We normally walk each morning , so the decision was made to book the boat home .
So we arrived in Melbourne on the 9/9/2018 spent a night with friends near Yarrawonga next night was at Dunedoo and the last night was at Inglewood Qld , we met up with Bob and Robin at Bingara NSW's on the way thru .
I didn't muck around coming home just went into (former) truck driving mode . And still didn't drive in the dark .
Well that's it from this adventure we including the wet weather had a good time .
I wonder what next awaits us in the future ??
We hope you's enjoyed our (my) ramblings..
Bernie and Carol .

I know the rest of Australia is behind Tassie, but I think you need to check your calendar.
Or are you planning a return visit next year?

I can't believe how fast time flies by!!
It's good that you went & you won't regret it but just like driving across the "Big Paddock", once is enough!
Even Ray got out of driving back across!! (smart boy!!)
Now just have to talk this 'girl' I know into going up & buying your rig so you can start on the next ..............

Good work Bernie and Carol, Certainly showed us some things we haven't seen and also let us know not to go to Tassie in the winter. We await the next adventure.

Despite the thrill of getting a trip on The World's Most Exclusive Airline (RFDS) from Geraldton to Perth, I found the ticket price a bit high.

I would have preferred to drive back, but when I pressed the accelerator, my leg hurt too much.

Regards & God bless,

Good on you for surviving the Tassie winter, & overcoming the 'hiccups' along the way....& even managing to find ways to to enjoy it all! Not a bad effort for a Queenslander! I'm not sure which is crazier, yours & Carol's winter in Tassie or mine & Julie's northern wet season. Will let you know if we manage to get through to next year without melting. Who knows we might sow the seeds of your next 'challenge'.
