Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
Some take authority too serious.
Mel was a production Supervisor when she was working.
At anytime when she was on away one particular person who thought she was next in line tried to take over.
One day when she was off Mel put her shoes in front of that person and said, if you're going to try and take over you might need these.
Never happened again.
This is the reason we will never join a caravan club of any description. Had an experience at Mareeba rally last year with a CMCA member trying to be nice & offering us a coffee before we headed off. We were confronted by a very obnoxious volunteer & fortunately he was observed by the member organising this particular rally, who came to apologise to us for the volunteers behaviour.
This original post relates the experiences of one member who struck problems. It is not intended that we open a discussion on the shortcomings of either the rally organisers or the CMCA. Therefore this thread will now be locked.
We hope you understand?
Regards..

As a volunteer member of the Event Control at several rallies, I would like to apologise for your experience.
I would also like to point out that there are 1800 people on the rally site, and the membership card is used as the ticket to the event. If you arrive at any event without a ticket, do you think they would let you in?
I can assure you that the event control volunteers work very hard to make sure the site is as safe as possible for members while they are enjoying the rally. We are on call 24/7 and sleep while monitoring a UHF radio on a public channel (often with other members of the public chatting for long periods) to make sure we are available for emergencies if required. We are volunteers given specific rules and are often chastised for allowing people to wander with no membership cards. Most often, this is a member who is already on site but did not wear their membership card to a seminar or whatever. We are supposed to stop these people walking around without membership cards on site, but we are told to be especially tough at the gate, after all, as soon as you walk through the gate you are also walking on site without a ticket to prove you are allowed to be there.
If we allowed everyone in to the site, the locals may decide to come to the free entertainment every night and there may not be enough seats for members who have paid to attend. The locals could also wander around the site while members are attending the entertainment. Event control is a very difficult job and I thank the other people who make up this wonderful team of volunteers.
May I ask you to out yourself in that position and see who is wrong ... the volunteer doing what they were instructed to do or the member who forgot their ticket to the event ?
Again, I am sorry that your wife got upset but I hope you would not let that one thing stop you enjoying another week of fun and entertainment of a Rally.
Kind regards
