But they lost the initial court challenge but won the high court appeal. So obviously there was sufficient evidence to prove that. The decision to change the name to Avida was carried out after the first ruling as they were smart enough to know it was just going to be a costly exercise. Either way, as much as some don't like some of the work carried out by them they are still far superior to the current winnebagos that are being made here by one of the cheaper MH manufacturers.
Hmmm, smooth as silk Craggels ... :D

I heard that story too...seems to be right...??? BUT ... is it ...

Can you transpose all of that into a mm figure for me please?
I'm currently shopping access doors so trying to figure out required size.

I have the dimensions of the Winston cells from their website and I can work out depth and width of the slide itself no problem but all the stuff sticking out the top are a mystery to me. Doesn't sound like a whole lot.
EG: Would say 25mm sounds about right? 30mm maybe?

25 or even 20 would be good if the slide out is a piece of cake to unlock & use. (in my opinion)
If it's a bugger to operate & you'd prefer to only slide out for major overhaul of connections etc then 80mm would be minimum.
(how big is your hand?)
If doing the 'easy' slide out way it's important for any/all wires to be in a biggish loop that minimizes any sharp bend flexing. Probably best for any/all wiring in that 'bundle' to also be stranded wiring rather than big single copper wire.
I love that so called silicon wire like on most multi meters.

You need to allow for the battery tray, the angle iron required to mount the fixed part of the slides as they are side mount not bottom mount, the slide height to where the battery tray locates in the right angle sliding pieces, a liner for the bottom of the battery box to cover the bolts used to secure the tray to the slider, the bolt and washer height above the cells, the cover thickness, the cable thickness, the amount the hinge on the door protrudes into the opening when fully open and another 10mm clearance for good measure just in case.
The end plate thickness plus cover thickness plus 0 gauge cable is approx. 40mm above the cell height, you will need to calculate the rest.
As far as width, the tray width plus the slide width plus angle iron thickness plus clearance for the door locking mechanism and about 20mm for good measure, more if you expect the cables to also run up one side of the battery pack when it slides in/out.

All that just to get it in and out the hole. You need the slide quite a bit longer than the battery pack/tray so some is still engaged to carry the weight when the battery is clear of the body and thickness of the door. If you don't have that much depth available you need to add the roller height to the clearance above the battery pack where it meets the door hinge so you can get the thing in the roller track and back out again if/when required.
In the case of Vic's build, the cell height excluding terminals and bolts is 275mm, the door height is 315mm, the opening from support frame height is 340mm, it is a real tight fit cause I missed the battery tray liner thickness in the calculations  But these were the limits I had to work with because it was already built.

Maybe Vik will come in and qualify the level of fine detail in his brand new Avida and the great after sales support offered, direct from the owner stuff. Little things like the rubber roof actually being properly fitted and the way they went about fixing such a problem. Or the laminate trim over the raw ply lifting off exposing no adhesive at all being applied to keep it in place. The electrical problems ...... I'll let Vik add to the list if he wants to ....

How long ya got...??? :o

Cos I’m on the newfangled i plod :ugeek: got NFI how to get to my photobucket etc ,Bad enough gettin back on ere... Bruce had to give me new passwords as it was...!!!

Sad to say but the afore mentioned MH is a POS... and the back up matches the way it was built, very poor...

I now say this to myself to keep sane ...(and married) For the money ,I could not have built one in my drive as the Coaster,Hino etc clan do, New Iveco,8 cog auto,A/C etc, car like to drive, just love the front of the MH, but the caravan they put on the back :x...!!!

So I see it as an “unfinished project” from “Gumby Tree”

Top dollar for a MH you have to finish off your self, re do a lot of short cuts, re glue most things, re wire most things, get things wired up with the proper gauge wire etc...

I have been one of the vocal ones on Avida forums and others and I must say... It looks like they have taken notice ...Abit...???

Had lengthy chats with new management in service and he was keen to get things right,It seemed to me anyway...???

I think they push out too many, too quickly and the quality controll was out of controll...

Folk call Jayco Junko and most folk know they are built to a price, not a standard , but Avida was posed to be up a rung or one above them, but I don’t think they are, not for the money they want and the back patting that goes on about their stuff...!!!by them...!!!

It sure has opened the T1’s eyes up to a few shortcuts to the many motor homes he has...!!!

Once I re glue and re fit and jazz up the sad bits it should end up a good unit...

I now have a solar panel roof, so I don’t have to worry about the doggy job they did on the rubber membrain , well on the way now...

Vik... IMHO... :|

Might have to get a real 'puter Vik. Margaret does still swear at her Surface Pro, but then she swears at anything computer related that puts up a fight to doing what she asked, well actually not just computer related actually  Margaret did originally start with Apple based gear, sold it, did training with it and tech support when she first started with BHP IT because they originally had Apple stuff. Then BHP moved up to PC based computing, a whole new world to learn but she will be the first to tell you she'd never go back to Apple based computing.
Margaret runs her own designed data base, the business, the website and her own personal computing requirements from her Surface Pro and it seems to be way ahead of a lot of gear out there. PC based is still the way to go if you need a computer, if you just need a toy, then ...... ;)

I'll admit, i had to Google 'Surface Pro'. Never heard of it.
In a nutshell, WOW! Not just a laptop nor a tablet but kindof both at the same time.
I'll do some more reading and then maybe have to look at how much second hand ones are selling for.
I'm impressed.
