Re: Parking Caboolture
Ray I'm starting to dislike the word "dropins" after reading the caravaners forum.
Might be better to ask if Dropkicks can get a taste of the 'good drop'?

Bruce,
While I speak fluent Caravan,
I don't frequent their forum.
What's the story re drop-ins?

Re: Parking Caboolture
Ray it seems like quite a few "experts" are now promoting "drop in" LiFePO4 batteries.
One is promoting them with the advice that they are a direct replacement for AGM batteries with no need to alter any wiring, chargers, solar panels or anything else.
Just straight out "drop in" and forget.
We'll see how THAT works out one day!

Re: Parking Caboolture
Thanks Deborah, come for a visit on your way through. More than welcome if we are there (probably not in winter)
That is interesting Bruce, I saw somewhere else that if you parallel some other honcho's batteries, no warranty, so how do you get capacity ?
As you say, interesting times ahead, I can see some bad press for Liths..................
Ray, more than welcome, but it may be a couple of years before we start getting to the good stuff. One very experienced vinter giving us a bit of advice reckons we can have something drinkable in 6 months but the edges will be off it in 12. In the meantime there are some quite spectacular wines being made on the Granite Belt right now, so pretty easy to source a good drop. There are also several good restaurants around the place, most on back roads from our place so pretty safe to sneak home slowly if you have been a bit naughty. We went to one in town and each had 2 entrees at around the $12 mark, had to bring home some of it in a doggy bag, portions are so big.
Friday will be 33 here, but only 29 up there, wish we had moved already !

Re: Parking Caboolture
William,
S’OK...
The way the stock market is behaving at the moment, it may be a while before we can get away for a significant period...
Already pre-booked for SA in late November (Hi Dottie), otherwise it looks like we’ll be homebodies for a while.

Might be ready to travel just as your grapejuice comes to maturity!!

Billwe were driving around your area in Burpengary a few days ago and realised we were going past your ex place.
Time is passing too quickly so live life to the full with your spouse/partner while you still have she/he by your side.

Re: Parking Caboolture
Still own the bloody thing Kay, daughter is painting the inside so we can turf it (as in get rid of)
Back down there for a couple of days shortly.
Were hoping to make our first vintage this year from purchased grapes but maybe now it might not happen.
Stanthorpe is full of smoke at the moment from bushfires and the grapes take on smoke taint very easily, so will be dicey.
Had some water delivered yesterday and the guy told me it was a back burning operation gone horribly wrong by the local firies.
Been breathing smoke for a week now and no sign they have control.
Might make some tainted wine anyway for the experience, would be useful for those that visited and didn't do the right thing.............................
