Truma Aventa Comfort not comfy now...!!!

Post by Vik351 »

Me thinks I have blown the fuse AC in the Espie,

Any folk done the deed to get to the fuse, cant find bugger all on youtube on the way to go

The blow up are as clear as mud, but I reckon it’s from the inside and not from the roof side.

Have heard these things have a habit of this fuse blow...!!!

Vik, Have a look for the power distribution panel. There will be one somewhere. On most Winnys that I have seen it is usually close to the door. Sometimes in a cupboard. When you find it, look for a circuit breaker or a master reset switch.
I will have a squiz at your Avida upgrade thread and see what I can find in pics.

Edit: Nup not much info in the pics, but this might jog your memory.

Next question, is this the first time that you tried the AC since you picked it up from Mannum?
Cheers

Thanks David, tried all that,nothing...

So i took it apart, checked the AC in and it was live, kept going to get to the fuse, a slow blow ,replaced it tried the thing and still nothing...???

Could it be the remote...??? The only means to turn the thing on and off FFS... :x

So. Beats me, looked up the Trauma site for agents and the only AC one is in Murray Bridge so might as well. Wait till T1 is back on deck and go from there, the avida panel is flashing truck battery now but showed 12.5

Thank christ we now have bought a house to sleep in and to keep me busy... startin go get over moterhomin ... :?

Is it still under warranty Vik? Those units are known to fail in the remote receiver area. The drainage for condensed water is so poor they get flooded and fail unless the van is perfectly level when the unit is running or de-ices itself when on heat mode.
Now for the not so good news, to change to another unit might involve a reconstruction of the frame that mounts the solar panels.
If they are not going to replace the thing under warranty then start a "Not fit for purpose" claim through Fair Trading and ask for a refund on the retail price of the Truma unit, then we can look at a better unit to fit in the same foot print, possibly an inverter cassette split system.

The Harrier sounds good ,big box though, the Ibis (was happy with one in the old Espie that was fitted new) sounds good too now, an improvement on the old model, $100.00 diff in price but the Harrier has more grunt... 8-)

Just ended my warranty by replacing the fuse yesti... so thats the end of that, plus when I went to avida ,they didnt want to know about it, gave me a paper to reset the remote...

Well fella, we have to fit a hole with something that fits that hole  :(
