Boring as bat crap day. All bruises are starting to show their colours now (had a little fall a few days ago) Hear a bird chirping and went out the front to check things out, saw nothing till I turned to come back inside when I saw a tiny little spoggy huddled in the corner of the door. I picked it up and rang the various fauna, bird rescue people then got peed off because they were of no use at all so rang the local vets and she said to bring the little one down so that was good, Hope the little one makes it. Off for CT tomorrow so goodnight everyone x Goodnight Riverlander x bet you felt the heat the other day.

We had 43 degrees today in Gloucester. It's still better than being at home.

Today the firies near home had a burn off (like you would on a 40 degree day) and somehow it has ended up being out of control (what a surprise). As it is very close to our town, the whole town is covered in thick black smoke.

So for obvious reasons, we are way better off up here in the heat and we have one of the Gloucester firies staying with us, so we will know if we need to move out in an emergency.

Goodnight Dot and goodnight to all. Missed you last night Dot as I was already in bed making zzz's. Yes it has been a bit hot up here but hasn't worried me over Xmas as I have had a tummy bug and have spent a lot of time sleeping with the air-con on. All OK again now.
Have to go out at 7.30am tomorrow to help pull Xmas Wonderland down so it is off to bed now. Catch you all next year.

New Year was a bit of an anticlimax for us. Shirley said she had a good light show over lake mac, up the road at Gloucester we had a really good light show. After another 40 degree day, we sat around our group dinner table, sharing meals and joy when the sky broke out. We had 5 splats of rain and then a sound like a steam engine roaring up the road hit us. It was very strong winds and then the light show happened. We all scattered to the safety of our own vans and stayed there. The lightning lasted several hours, hence my not turning on the computer, last night. All was fine by this morning and back up to 42 degrees by lunchtime.

This heat is very draining, so off to sleep now,

Woke up to yet another 42 degree day, so suggested a change of plans and come home early. We did an unhurried pack up and came home to a much cooler part of the world. At least the breeze coming off the lake over sunset has cooled us down a lot. Tomorrow we will finish unpacking and cleaning the van, ready for our next adventure.
