Australian Trivia Only

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Macca,
One of the states you mentioned is correct. Pick one!
(As you can see on the nose, this particular aircraft saw combat action. That should be a hint.)
Then you just need to give me more details: where & when manufactured, and what it's called.
Easy!! :P

Boomerang
1942 to 1945
Fishermens Bend Victoria

First Australian designed and built fighter.

If not the Wirriway which was designed as a training aircraft, one squadron was based in Malaysia as a general service aircraft when the Japs attacked.

RnB,
You’re close with the year, but the rest is way off... although it does have an Australian name.

Is the plane near a dam?
The engine cowling and short cockpit has me stumped. The early war aircraft built in Australia was from the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation that was originally based in Mascot before it moved to the factory in Fishermans Bend at Port Melbourne.
Ray says it is not a Boomerang and that is the only thing that looked close to the photo, but the Boomerang was fighter, not a bomber, so no idea

Was it designed by Wacket? Wacket CA2 or CA6, built as a trainer, like the Winjeel. Central Australian Aviation Museum.

That is what you would expect for a bomber, a twin engine aircraft, but the one Ray has photographed is a single engine job.
