Then, there is the HGAI articles too.

Maybe human generated AI. Kinda like 'fake news'.
I'm calling BS on the critters eating the brake wires too. Surely they would have mechanical protection, same as the speed sensors.

There have been a number of issues with both MG and Prius as well as other assorted manufacturers on the O/S forums where rodents have attacked wiring to build nests .... I can't see foxes doing it though ..... Rats are well known for eating anything with silicon in the plastic, vacuum lines, window washer hoses, plug leads, even turbo boost hoses that have that pretty Blue or shiny black finish.

Sadly, speed sensor wiring isn't particularly well protected in anything but bush bashing 4 X 4 rigs, and then it's usually aftermarket .... but I've never seen a report of them chewing brake hoses

Trump is the gold standard man ;) how about a Wombat sticker .... you know the reputation wombats have ;)

As far as human generated B/S articles, AI can run them off so cheap a numb bum reporter wouldn't even have the bits of fact to thread through the B/S to give it any credibility by the time the AI article is out there doing the rounds, I'm guessing those type reporters are already on the unemployable line .....

Yes Dave, Gold for you, you're good at working it out, but not the best HGAI I know.

AI in the hands of misanthropes or idiots is the biggest threat to social order atm.

HGAI, "Human guidance artificial intelligence". This it where it gets scary, as there's already this system in many EV's, especially in driverless vehicles and automated driving. Considering a break or fault in just about any wiring in an EV makes it dead, that could become very dangerous and even though I'm all for EV's, an ICE vehicle can be roll or jump started in most situations. Plus the manufacturer has access to your EV systems and can switch them off at any time they want, bit like windows and apple systems

Have found google is crap and will direct you to the sites it profits from and not relevant ones, which is why I never use it preferring "duck duck go" and it seems to provide much more relevant search results. HGAI, on duck duck go, has many links to HGAI explanations and interesting articles and duck duck go doesn't track you or collect your data. I only use open source computing and would be reluctant to own an EV that can be controlled by the makers.

I'd love to see a simple EV which has many mechanical parts, especially brakes and not computerised dashes etc. Seems I'm misinformed, thought all regen braking was via the motors and manual braking was separately mechanically operated. The Ev's I've driven, (2) had paddles which you adjusted to determine the amount of regen braking and thought the brake pedal was a separate entity. The Kona I drove, had a number of regen settings and brought the car to a stop, slow down or nothing. Once used to regen, never touched the brakes and my friend has said they rarely use the brakes.

If I won lotto would build a simple light EV using a racing style chassis and 4 wheel motor drives. There's at least one company I know of that makes 15inch wheel motors in Aus and I'd keep motor and instruments on separate circuits and not have all those chips controlling everything.
