I tend to agree Deborah. Different govt's push different barrows, for a variety of reasons. We were in Canarvon in NW WA this morning. There are two elec vehicle charging points there. and 4 servos with 6-8 pumps each.
It's kinda ironic though, we are currently in a renter M/h that has a small necked fuel filler. A hi flow nozzle won't fit properly. The only way I could fill up at our last two servos was to push the flap thingo out of the way with a screwdriver then dribble in the fuel. Took forever.
On our recent travels we have seen a number of wind turbines with the blades stationary. Obviously not outputting, but you would wonder why at 8am or 5.30pm nobody needs a bit of extra energy.
I'm not sure yet, where all this will end. But I do know that in the early 20th century there were a number of different electric vehicles. It seems that the big fuel companies bought them out and they just disappeared. Go figure.

Good morning.
Another nuffin day yesterday
I have been thinking of ways to put the roofing iron on the shed...without having to hire a cherry picker, it's not possible to get on the roof it's not designed so
I think I have a remedy but wont say...incase it don't work
Diesel is and has been for quite awhile $2.24.9 in Biggenden at the servo, The truck company is closed so the cheaper fuel is not available, they are putting new tanks and pumps in.
Noe I've found out Dot doe sent love me...I love snakes...they are safe in our place.
Next door is so paranoid he bashed a legless lizard to death with a shove.
Carol had another win...
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Morning all.
Cardio visit today. Trying a new bloke and having a ultrasound. Just getting a baseline.
Bernie, if you use Ray's time machine, you could see how you did it and then do it that that way.

Re: Good morning daily
If you have solar panels, you can fill your "tank" for free. Buy up tired electric vehicle batteries and connect them to the rooftop solar, now you can power the house and recharge the car .... The new electric vehicles even come with a plug in point you can draw power from the vehicle battery as 240vac, (known as V2L) I think the latest is up around the 4,000w mark or more than a 15 amp power point can supply, handy in a power outage ......dream4red wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 9:44 pm David,
remember when they pushed gas motors? Oh yes, they will be cheaper to run, until they weren't
Next came deisal , same story. Suddenly that one is now dearer.
Now you can get an electric car, but who can guarantee that enough electricity will be available to run homes, businesses and now cars?
The other thought is that if there are thousands of people with electric cars, who has the right to be first to get power to their car? I see lots of people sitting in cars waiting to charge them in very long lines. Takes a long time to charge anything doesn't it ? What will electric charging stations be charging just to charge up a vehicle?
Just a little bit of cynical thinking.
There are already a lot of fuel stations covering their roof in solar panels, start adding the tired EV batteries in large battery banks, and the fuel for the EV is delivered on site, no waiting for the fuel truck to arrive.
Remember when just about every corner had a fuel station, yet you have to drive for a while to find one even in a city ...... all those buildings or empty fuel station forecourts could become recharging stations.
As for slow recharging, the Chery Amoda 5 EV to be released early next yr can add 300km of "fuel" in around 30 mins, but if you are in town and only need to get home, 5 mins for 50 kms? Time how long you are in the fuel station on the next long distance trip after driving for 400kms ..... from drive in to back on the road ..... An hr is the average stop time between refuelling, paying at the counter, toilet break, getting food and a coffee or tea and consuming it ..... wouldn't it be easier to just park undercover, plug in and go and do those same things ... without the hassle of paying at the counter and moving the vehicle ...... come back out, unplug and drive away with more than another 400kms of "fuel" in the tank ....

How many fuel stations and pumps were around when the horseless buggy first hit the road? The horse industry pushed for a law that someone had to walk in front with a flag to warn people they were approaching ... not like you couldn't hear the things or smell themsupersparky wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 11:11 pm I tend to agree Deborah. Now China is at full production power building electric only vehicles, all the big name vehicle companies are using these mega factories to build their electric cars ..... where do you thing the electric Volvo is manufactured? All the MG range ... the list goes on ...... by the end of next yr you will be swamped with full electric and plug in hybrid electric vehicle for those that need a stepping stone between the old and the new .... The Chery hybrid has a combined range of over 1,000kms, not many of use can drive for a 1,000km without a stop, plug in the hybrid battery while you do the needful (an India IT term) and that range is extended by 100km or more .....

$2,360 and if it works as good as the original, more than 10 yrs life. Around 4 ltrs/100km, but when I add the new extended range plug in battery that will be recharged by solar, we got 1800km for 40 ltrs with the last one, this one should be bettersupersparky wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 9:30 pm T1, about how much is a new genuine Prius battery gunna cost? I'm only really asking cos fuel is getting so bloody expensive. It was $2.49 in Broome last week and this morning in Canarvon was $2.21/litre. So it's pretty easy to drop $100 or so any time you need to refill.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone, today we are in Coral Bay, having a rest and sightseeing day. We turn around and head back towards Perth tomorrow. We just had bacon and egg again, and it's not even Sunday.
Bernie, does your roof iron go top to bottom or length ways?
It's bin truck day today, in Coral Bay, and it's operated by a female.
Have a top day everybody, safe travels.
