viewtopic.php?p=143036#p143036 $13,000 to $20,000 for over 200,000miles or around 320,000kms, you do realise that equates to 62.5 cents per km, even less per km if you get more than the 320,000 before the battery requires replacing ... and that is genuine Tesla battery replaced by the genuine Tesla workshop, so it comes with the full warranty .....
$20,000 / $2 ltr = 10,000ltrs of fuel, so the fuel cost to equal the battery replacement cost would require the vehicle to achieve 3.125lt/100kms for all the 320,000kms and zero service costs during that time .......
Now, that is something to think about when next you push the "EV's are too expensive and will cost a fortune for a new battery" Throw $20,000 at your used EV to add the pluses that it has a brand new battery, and how much would your used EV be worth compared to the petrol or diesel fuel vehicle with the same 320,000km on the clock, remember, the average private vehicle does less than 20,000km a yr, so the vehicle would be 16 yrs old by that stage ....... will petrol or diesel even be available in 16 yrs time .... what price per ltr .... and who would want a 16 yr old fossil fuel powered car ......
