Good morning everyone. Another bright sunny day here. Spent a fair bit of yesty weeding bindii out of the front yard. Was gunna call it lawn, but it isn't.
It's warm enough to let Bandit swim now, so we'll be off to the big park for a walk and swim today.
The shade shed looks good Bernie. Any plan to join it to the brewery?
George, did you get the hot water sorted out at the front house?
Have a happy Monday everybody. Safe travels.
Cheers

Good morning All. 30 * forecast for today so will be turning the aircon on in dry mode when the inside temp reaches 20* in the entry. It will run all day until 5:30pm with the solar panels providing the power.

Dave, hot water at the front house sorted by replacing both the element and the thermostat which I purchased online from 1st Choice Hot Water. I placed the order at 3pm on Tuesday and received the items on Thursday 9am from the GC and I had them fitted by 1pm, all up cost including delivery $83. Hopefully it will last another 20 years or at least till I croak. I had to lower the thermostat setting as it was heating the water to 70*, a little too hot.

Did a bit up at the workshop yard. The bloke doing the demolition bought as s/h excavator with a grab attachment, we must be financing that  The pin wouldn't fit through the bush on the "picker" arm so I stupidly bought a drum wheel flapper disc sander and started to worry the bush away to try and get the pin to fit .... after a few hrs at it, I could see I was getting some where, I could also see I was doing all the work while he stood in the shade ...... got the wobbly boots real bad and decided I'd best stop, so instead of taking over, he decided he'd had enough for the day .......
I'd planned to get the truck running and move it out the way .... instead I ended up back home and in bed for a few hrs recovering .....
Today, the plan is to get the battery in the Prius. Turns out the genuine Toyota battery doesn't come complete ready to drop in, no vent pipes, no extension base and cover for the battery computer, nor the computer, pre charge resistor or pre charge control, no contactors .... but at least it had the computer wiring harness and a new main fuse holder ... but not fitted ..... :x so much for the multiple reassurances from the Toyota spares manager that it would come complete ... should have opened the box while I was there .......

T1, how much will all that extra stuff cost? Or can you re-use all the old stuff. Hmm, second thought, which Prius is it going into?
Cheers

It was going to go into the silver Prius that I caught the battery on fire, but because I have to reuse the gear on the orange taxi Prius, I'll put the battery in that one and figure out how to get the bits I need to put a battery in the silver one at a later date.

I've got most of it in now, back gave out, so play has ended for today. Another hr or so tomorrow should have it at running stage, but no back seats etc. Then I can try it out and see if it was just the traction battery that was the problem, or if there are a number of more deep seated issues with it ....

If it has more problems than just the battery, I'll take it out again and put it in the Silver Prius and see if that one wants to play fair ..... The silver Prius has a leather interior, unfortunately, the lower section of the back seat was in the workshop, so it will require a wreckers search to see if I can find another one

You will never learn will you Terry?. Charge the guy for your time and efforts or take the cost off his demo charge. Don't go to the workshop while they are there. Another beaut day but I stayed on the bed and let the man do what ever outside. Rang my M8 in NZ for a natter, she is in a much better frame of mind which is great. After 50yrs of struggling she is now able to do as she wants $ wise. New stables for the donkeys, new TV, new driveway, bought another old kauri house like hers and joining them together, a new big freezer to fill with food for her dogs and cats and nice new linen. She deserves everything but her bro is still making claims over her property. BOB's has now finished. Only another week to keep weight off my foot have stitches out next Monday woop woop. George how is your DIL? Bernie your shed looks fine, well done.

Good morning everyone. Another fine sunny morning here. Didn't get up to much yesty, just a big walk for the Bandit. That wears out a few hours and gets a bit of a cardio exercise for the day.
Bit of a bugga about the pump Bernie. The weather people are saying we are in for a bit of a dry spell. A few fires have got going in the scrub already, up this way.
Hope you get your batteries sorted T1.
Safe travels everybody, have a top day.
Cheers
