You can convert any vehicle to EV and bypass all the fly by wire stuff if you want a very basic electric vehicle.
The braking controlled by single pedal driving where regen does the braking or the pressure sensing method in the brake line that ramps up the regen braking over and above the programmable regen braking effect is the more common type, the MG4 just takes that to another level and all the latest model vehicles work that way, they need that system to do the emergency stop thing if someone steps out in front while the vehicle is moving.

I like the way the Gen 2 Prius handles braking, it is all regen down to 16km/h, then it applies the pads on the discs to come to a complete stop. A bigger battery to improve the electric only range with added plug in charging and more capacity for regen braking, and they would make an ideal low cost hybrid to help make the transition from an ICE powered vehicle to an all electric powered vehicle I reckon, incredibly reliable

NP, we'll just let the foxes eat the brake wires then. When I get home, I'll follow all this up. Been in the pub too long today.
Funnily enough, never ever seen a fox eat plastic or rubber.

In past life helped a mate who was a electrician for wiring etc in farm sheds and piggeries . The insulation would quickly get chewed off by rats. By accident we found that spraying the wires with WD40 the problem was solved. Have always sprayed wires in engine compartment et since with a spray of WD40 and repeated when there was sightings of rats or mice. Can also happen with cookies chewing external wires like solar..

Bloody cookies! Can't trust 'em!
Interestingly here in Nebo the overhead electric wires are mostly insulated twisted pairs and there are a few mobs of galahs & Cockys that sit on them with no chewing happening.
Next door has a dish of food out for them & a doz or so fly in, land on the wires before dropping in for a feed.
Bernie is that what you airies call a fly in?

It's probably aluminium bundle cable Bruce.
The twist is to stop it swaying in the breeze..
The copper was also twisted..
We have resident galahs here... they don't chew the wires neither..
It's better when it's raining they hang upside down probably to clean the armpits 😁😁😋

The mechanic who serviced my Silver Spurs always used
WD-40 to stop the field mice from chewing on the electric cables.
