Re: Thought for Today
Do you think that Ancient Mythologies are boring?
Just consider:
HADES, the feared Lord of the Dead, had a savage guard dog at the Gates of Hell. Its name was Cerberus.
The name originated from ‘kerberos’, in an Indo-European proto-language. When Ancient Greek developed from the proto-language, ‘kerberos’ was absorbed unchanged.
However, when the Roman culture and language became dominant, the Latin spelling became ‘cerberus’.
In the Indo-European, ‘kerberos’ meant ‘spotted’ a meaning unchanged throughout the permutations of its spelling.
This means that HADES, the feared Lord of the Underworld, named his pet dog ‘Spot’!

It's a 15 min walk from my place to the pub
Yet at least an hr walk back home
The difference is staggering

Re: Thought for Today
Bloke walks into a with a small lizard type creature, "I'll have a beer and shandy for Tiny"
Barman gets them their drinks and looks at the little creature and asks "Why do you call him tiny? Because he's so small?"
"No, it's because he's my Newt"
Boom tish

Dot, I see that you have changed your Avatar. It looks like a fat rat kicking back. Give us a hint, what does the tiny writing say?
I'm flocked if I can work it out.
