Re: CMCA news?
I'd forgotten you'd told me that Shirley, but well remember the trip. I'd been up to Bunderberg to buy a Toyota Troopy, had stayed with some forum friends who had also checked out the Troopy for me before I went up. Big John & his wife Olga. They had a self-built fiver, before fivers became popular. Crossing the western side of Barrington Tops involved a river crossing, something I'd never done before, let alone in a new (to me) 4wd. The water was icy cold & fast flowing with a drop of about a foot into the water, & similar on the exit. I almost turned back, but convinced myself that as there was a road on either side of the river that it must be navigable. Of course I got across without problem, but it felt very adventurous back then. Have since crossed over Barrington Tops again in 2017 with the Patrol & Tvan & was disappointed not to find the river to cross!

Re: CMCA news?
Spent many times camped in a tent & our LR at Polblue Swamp, Barrington Tops in the seventies when our kids were growing up, many tracks that we traversed back then are now closed to vehicles, kids loved the wild horses that roamed the area.
Probably a bridge been built over the river, we haven't been in the area for many years, time to check it out again when this pandemic settles.
Bretti camp on the Thunderbolt Way was also a favourite camp, kids loved riding the rapids, great memories.
I remember Big John & Olga from the forum, I think.
