Ah ..... but it did answer the next 5 questions in one go ;)

Still enjoying your travels I see. Terry didn't the same thing happen to Derek when his auto wouldn't drop back in gears when going down hill only yours did it going up hill? . When do you expect to be home?

For around 5 hrs on Tuesday, I'll be in Adelaide, do you miss me that much already ;)

I'm flying over for the needles in the eyes, then flying back in the evening ..... one of those trust things, I trust Professor Chan to put needles in my eyes .... not sure how I'd go with someone I don't know doing it ...... and, even with the airfare, it's $400 cheaper  Anything to do with the eyes seems to be a licence to steal for some people .....

Not expecting to return until August, I think Margaret has an appointment with the foot people around that time.

Seems to be improving every day, I really think the giving up smoking has a lot to do with it, but she is taking good care of the wound and has a thing called an i walk, sort of a kneeling platform with an adjustable leg and foot as well as somewhere for her shine to rest on ..... I called it her strap on ;) but she has been using it quite a bit and getting better with getting around rather than sitting a lot, so that might be helping as well.

I think Derek's issue was not selecting a low enough gear to go down a hill before he started the decent, then the brakes over heated and the auto wouldn't remain in low gear because of the engine speed .... these electronically controlled things are great .... at protecting themselves .....
In the case of the Winnie, I think the electronics saved the auto transmission for burn out, and the engine electronics save it from serious overheating damage .... fingers crossed that it's just the coils causing the rough run loss of climbing pull that it had in second gear, and the serious shudder at low rpm under load ..... a lot on Dr Google suggest they had a similar problem and new coils fixed it ......

This listing may be an option for the repair.

Ford V10 and auto. New.

I'm guessing they pulled it out to fit a C15 series Cummins or Cat diesel, the Cat revs harder and makes more power and torque out of the box, but upgrade tuning is very difficult because the computer is locked down by Caterpillar, where the Cummins is popular and has a laundry list of upgrades

T1 Terry
Just as a foot note on the Cummins C15 engines and how much power they can develop
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXXYxFqgR6g Load and bobtail truck drags .... insane performance ...... might be a bit much for the Winnie though ;)

The replacement Suburban water heater has arrived, appears there have been a few upgrades since the original that was installed in the Winnie, but fingers crossed, it will fit in the same spot.

Only took about an hr 1/2 to get the old one out, a bit of water damage to the timber support rails and the piece of 3 ply is in "less than optimal" condition. Getting those out seems to be a bigger challenge than getting the hot water system out, the heads are rusted off the phillips headed screws. Looks like I'll have to cut the timber supports either side of the screws and chisel them out ...... then to remove the timber patterned lino planks to see what damage is under them ......

Think I'll paint the whole area with the rubber based shower enclosure paint to make a catch basin and added a drain through the floor to get rid of any future water leaks ..... I'll do the same with the fridge enclosure when I start the timber replacement there .....

I wouldn't be drilling any holes in the floor.

It will let all the rain in over the next week.
