True Story told to me by my physio...
A patient of hers has a teenage son who is a Downs syndrome lad, good enough to be left alone (his mum works) so his mum rings him every couple of hrs or so just to be on the safe side. One day when she rang her son kept saying "Elves are real, elves are real mum", are they dear? "Elves are real mum, elves are real" this went on for quite a few minutes so the mum thought "Hhmmmm, this is sounding a bit weird" so she went home and was met at the gate by her very excited son still chanting, "Elves are real, elves are real mum, elves are real, I have got one" He turned tail and headed towards the garden shed when she heard a faint voice saying" I'm not an elf, I'm not a bloody elf, let me go" When she opened the garage door she saw a dwarf tied to a chair while her son said, "See mum I told you elves are real". Mum untied the poor little bugga and asked if he was going to call the police? and he replied "No I just want to get out of here" as he scurried towards the street.... Turns out he was a young fella collecting for some charity.... Apparently some Downs syndrome people can't comprehend the condition of Dwarfism.... Now how was that for a great true story, did that bring a smile to your dial?
