Hi All

Is there much difference in practical terms between the NASA BM1 and the eLITE monitors.

The Elite is a copy of the Xantrex Link Lite, that is a very good battery monitor with a few good additional features, the BM1, I haven't used one personally but a few on the lithium forum said they would not operate on the Li batteries reliably, it seemed to be related to relying on battery voltage drop to determine SOC, Li batteries don't have voltage drop until the battery is at zero SOC, then it drops fairly quickly, not something you want to come as a surprise

Thanks Terry. As I plan to go Lithium when next changing batteries ( be prepared lol) I shall purchase the elite bms. I do have the BM 1 but I am not sure that it is reading all that reliably.

Bottom of this page http://www.solarpanelsonline.com.au/victron_8.html has the victron BMv 600S for $199. Might ot be the S model or they may have the other even cheaper as the S model is a dual battery monitor. Quite good unit for the money, Google Vivtron BMV 600 to see just what it can do, I think there is a you Tube video as well
