"tanks" here----I was fiddling around on Google for something to do whilst waiting for nothing else to happen, and I typed in "Control Panel for Generator" and up came a list of thousands of items.

I clicked on one of the many listings, and there and then I found exactly the people I needed to fix my broken Generator under BibBoysToyz website.
I phoned the (02) phone number and told Adam what the problem was ---the motor starts on the second pull, but then shuts down within 30 seconds with a red light on the OIL ALERT part of the panel,---and I asked for his advise on how to get the generator running again.

Adam talked me through a few over the phone checks --identify the type of generator and model number, type of oil used, oil level, etc; all to standard required but still getting an OIL ALERT light and shut down.
No problem --it needs a new Control Panel -- $85.00 post paid, and you can receive it courier delivered by next Tuesday.

On the Other Forum I would staste "No Commercial Connection" I don't own the business but I highly recommend Big Boys Toyz for their courtesy and efficiency.

With the 3.5 kva running, I can now use the generator to run the in-house Aircommand rooftop airconditioner to heat or cool the m/home as I continue my Trip Around Australia.

They are just around the corner from our place Keith, seemed nice enough folk when we went to check out a gen set for someone on the CF forum. They have some great toys in their show room

You are right there Mr.Pope, unfortunatly I purchased a 1.5 kva the NT side of Longreach to keep the house batteries charged. AGM was such a difficult outfit to deal with that I gave up trying to obtain a Control Panel from them and I purchased a 1.5 kva from another supplier. The 1.5 kva unit was courier delivered to the Longreach Post Office
4 days later without any problem.
[ My thinking was that I would have to frequently checkin to C/Parks to have 240 volt to charge the batteries OR run the Sprinter motor for many hours to charge from the vehicle alternator. Both options being either expensive or not practical].

AGM first wanted me to freight the 3.5 kva unit complete to them --freight charges both ways to my account. I asked them if I just sent the Control Panel to them so as they could identify the part and just send a replacement. NO DEAL !!
Also I would need a street address before they would send the generator back to me after repair.

I eventually got to where I could send them an e-mail with an attachment of several digital photos of the unit, the panel, and other pictures that would identify the make/model/part etc. I explained that I am a 75 year old fart and did not know how to send digitaL photos by attachment. They told me to find someone who could.

I again suggested that I send the part to them by Express Post Satchel so as they could make the positive identification of the Control Panel----NO DEAL; they don't/won't work that way

AGM would then list the part on e-bay and send me an email advising me the cost and e-bay listing number so as I could pay for the part. They would not accept Direct Deposit to pay for the part!!

I explained that I was on a trip around Australia and that I did not have any street address-- MY PROBLEM -they would not consign to me care of Longreach Qld. Post Office---I MUST HAVE A STREET ADDRESS.

They told me to wait till I return to my home in WA, and they would consign the replacement panel to my residential street address.
DEALING WITH THEM WAS VERY FRUSTRATING; and all of this was on mobile phone with a very weak signal and several drop-outs. I was on the phone to AGM for 1 hour 18 minutes to get nothing.(other than frustration)

On arriving in Maryborough my Sister suggested that I Google the part and see if there was another parts supplier listed.
As a result I phoned Big Boys Toyz in Sydney, and after about 5 minutes on the phone I had a replacement part in the mail for $85 post included.

"tanks" is now a VERY HAPPY CHAPPY with 2 generators. I now have a choice; use the 1.5 kva to charge the battery bank when I am camping along the road, and use the 3.5 kva to run the house airconditioner on cool cycle for comfort as I head North towards Cairns, OR run the Heat cycle as I venture South towards the colder areas.

I now have a 240 volt 800 w ceramic heater for sale.

"takks" here-- I forgot to mention that I also purchased a 40 amp 3 stage charger to replace the 20 amp unit I was using.
[ If T1-Terry has a 40 amp charger, then it must be the size that I want]. Again e-bay and delivered within 4 days. Now installed and working well--------
-------NO MORE LOW BATTERIES--and the fridge is working well, the prawns are frozen, the smoked salmon is cold, but still not enough room in the freezer part for a 2 litre tub of Ice Cream so I have to be satisfied with WEISS blocks [Mango and cream or Tropical Fruit, whichever is on Special.

My theory was that the 40 amp would take me less time to charge the 2 x 100 AGM batteries.

Does anybody want to buy a 20 amp charger.

Cut your cream into manageable blocks and put them in zip lock bags, that will fit in the odd nook and cranny of the freezer.

Use the empty two litre tub for a doggie water bowl.
