A report while I still feel good. The 2 injections in the left side of my neck have stopped the headache across the left hand side of my head and behind my left eye, so now I have only 2/3rds of a headache This is good news believe it or not, it means the injections today had an effect, just more to do to isolate the other pinched nerves.
The bad bit, 2 hrs at the best, then the needle will wear off, not looking forward to that part at all, but at the moment, first time in 9 yrs at least part of my head doesn't hurt

As long as there are not too many nerves affected the treatment is to burn the nerve out with radio frequency. Lasts around 12mths, then it needs to be repeated.
The problem will be if too many nerves are affected, the result would be loss of feeling in the head but could also involve the head flopping around as the nerve and muscle work together to determine just what part of the muscle and which muscle to flex, apparently they overlap so if one is taken out the other can cover for the loss, loose both and problem could arise. But I'm keeping positive. 2 weeks time and more shots to a different area, maybe the right hand side next time

Woo hoo, maybe that old saying "not tonight dear I have a headache" won't work now.
I have my next back op on the 29th Oct, then there will be no stopping us hey Terry? apart from um Margaret & George

Well, they did tell me it would wear off but I was expecting a slow ramp up of the pain, not a sudden turned back on. At least there was a result so there is a chance of a positive longer term fix, even if only for part of it, better than nothing. My head feels like I should put it in cotton wool. When it doesn't hurt you do all those things you couldn't before, like leaning forward or twisting the head from side to side... the effect is still the same, just didn't feel it for 2 hrs, at least that answered that question.
More shots in 2 weeks, hopefully more good news, a result is all we are looking for at the moment, the longer term fixes are later.

Apparently the tourniquet tightened firmly around the neck give long term pain relief, but it seemed a little drastic to me
