Can't believe it FINALLY Coffs Harbour, one of the most anti motor home locations ever, has finally woken up the benefits of encouraging motor homes into the area and about bloody time. Looks like they have woken up at last that they are missing a good percentage of the m/h tourist trade and of course the mighty dollar. Very "soon" they are going to allow, "self contained", emphasized, "self contained", motor homes to stop over on the foreshore parking area, east of the jetty for 48 hour stop overs, and the unbelievable, FREE of CHARGE. Hell for Coffs that is a HUGE give away believe me and a real step into the 21st century. LOOKS like things are really on the improve, hope other mid north coast councils see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good show Dirk. All it needs now is a few hundred people to use the facility, spend a few bucks around town & leave a nice thankyou note to the council.
Word will soon travel up and down the coast & others will want 'on the wagon'!!!
I've often thought a few "deposit here" comment containers on various shop counters would be a good idea?
Now if we could flatten out a few of those hills that us "Westerners" have to travel over .................

G'Day Bruce,
This would have been the very last council that I thought would finally get the message, they have been so anti m/h for years and years and to see this on the news tonight was a real shock. The dollar finally registered but it would be like getting blood out of a stone. Not sure how long this is going to last as this area is where the proposed multi dollar development is going to take place in the future. That is if they ever get around to agreeing to it. Hmmm maybe pigs do fly after all.

Sounds like a great idea, but sadly there will be some who will mistreat the privilege. I feel that area is often ruined by the drongos in wicked vans. I hope it gets off the ground and is up and running soon. Coffs is a very expensive place to stay in caravan parks.

Granted the backpackers do make a welter of it. Watched the ranger late in the afternoon move them all along, as soon as the ranger left they all came back like pigeons on a roof. I think they will police this area pretty well as the local neighbors who overlook this area will be right onto it as normal. Bet this decision by the council was hotly debated.....Lol.

Re: COFFS HARBOUR FINALLY JOINS THE 21 CENTURY.
We have a similar problem in Kingston.
I think it need a warning cleanout on dusk with rego numbers recorded & then a 11PM inspection with tickets issued to those that did flock back.
Word has got out here to not turn up till after dark if you're not self contained.
Once it costs a council serious money to police it, it'll soon be stopped. (my opinion)
