There is a very popular parking bay about 8km on the Adelaide side of our town (KIngston SE, SA) that even hosts a "Driver Reviver Station" on busy days. (Easter etc)
It is on the main highway & therefore is controlled/managed by the State Gov and nothing to do with the local council.
Most SA main roads are now "managed" by private contractors who have won a tender or 2.
These people put one small rubbish bin in this area & decided to empty it once a week.
It usually overflows after a few hours.
What did they decide to do? Place more bins? Empty it more often?
NOPE!!
Remove the bin altogether.............. !!! Problem solved..... no more over flowing bin .......... What a bloody disgrace!!
I believe the same has happened at the "42 mile parking bay" as well.
I imagine the Police will be writing litterbug tickets now.
If people can't pay their electricity bill, how can they pay $45 to take trash to the tip?

A lot of people still do not make the effort to do the recycling thing either and that also adds to the "normal" rubbish bin loads. The one I potted was nearly all bottles and cans (didn't look too deep) fekking (Mrs Browns word) too lazy to sort and even get some $ back for them.
