Experienced player or total novice disc bowls player……October this year sees the inaugural Australian National Disc Bowls Championships being held at the home of good sports – Wagga Wagga, NSW. The dates are October 22 to 26 and the venue is the ACTA grounds, 74 Tasman Road, Wagga Wagga 2650.
Mens Singles - Ladies Singles - Mens Triples - Ladies Triples - Mixed Doubles - all designed for the experienced players.
You can make up your own team or the organisers can assist to find someone to fill that missing spot. There will be a playoff between the Mens Singles winner and the Ladies Singles winner to see who is the overall Australian champion!
Lessons will be held for novices and you will then progress to Mixed Triples, where people won't be playing for sheep stations but you will have a lot of fun.
Winners of all divisions will receive cash prizes and trophies - over $2500 in value can be won. Runners-up won't be forgotten either. The minimum you will take home is a certificate from the inaugural Championships.
There will be a perpetual shield upon which will be engraved the names of all divisional winners.
A second perpetual shield will be for the most successful club or group. This will be calculated by your club receiving 3 points for a win and 1 points for a loss. Discounts apply for groups of 5 or more vehicles – so get your group together for a fun time.
The Championships are being organised by the originator of the Disc Bowls Festival, which has now been held for eight years.
Commemorative boxed sets of disc bowls will be available for sale. You can even order a personalized box set if you would like to include your name or the name of your rig or club/chapter.
For more information and booking forms – check out the website discbowls.com.au, email info@discbowls.com.au or phone 0408729580 to get a flyer sent to you......everyone welcome!

Re: Australian Disc Bowls Championships
Thanks everyone for all the interest. Many people have said they want to come but the time doesn't suit so the DATES HAVE BEEN CHANGED.
The Championships will now be held APRIL 7 TO 12, 2015 - still the same venue - ACTA Grounds Wagga Wagga. More information at discbowls.com.au. Disc bowls sets are available for sale now or then.
This will fit in better for those heading to other events such as CMCA Rally at Murray Bridge (April 19 to 26), Stone the Crows (April 1 to 6) and the CMCA Victorian Rally (March 19 to 22). Any queries, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks
Chrissy
