Now that we are settled in at 40 Mile Beach, WA, where the local signal from Karratha is fine during the day but reduces to nothing around 9pm we cranked up the big dish expecting to get a perfect picture.
Yeah, right!
Well you know what perfect breaks down to dontcha... ?
Per is the noise the cat makes when it's happy, & fect is the Irish spelling of that other F word - yeah, that's right - fornicating!!!
So, rang up the Vast people this morning, told them the story & expected them to tell me that they will fix it immediately!

She said: "No problems, if your system is up & running then I'll just re-activate your card & it will fixed".
Me: "Umm... No, I just explained that the dish can't lock on to the satellite."
Her: "Oh! Well that means that you must have had your system turned off for a couple of weeks then."
Me: "Correct."
Her: "OK. Then you'll have to get a TV type person to come out & reset your dish for you. If you don't use your dish regularly - about once a fortnight then it will need to be reset each time!! It's a bit of a glitch in the system!"
Me: "Well, that's a bit of information that should have been mentioned when the unit was purchased, or, at the very least when the card was being activated by the staff at Vast!"
Her: "Mmmm...
I disconnected.
Has anyone had a similar problem & if so how did you rectify it?
I have no knowledge the dish at all other than turning it on & off.
Is there a simple way to reset it... a button on the dish to push?" Wishful thinking perhaps.

Bloke a few vans away had a fell come out from Karratha, 40 klm away, to solve his TV problem - an omni directional antenna. Cost him around $200 for the visit, will pay that if I have to ... but...
