New style car doors

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

This is certainly great for anyone who has difficulty getting in and out of a car.
Wonder how Long it will take to get this on the market in Japan and the U.S. ?

I wouldn't hold yer breath Chuckie, This is old news, so very unlikely to be here (or anywhere) in the near future in mass.
Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.

They have been around for quite some time but no one seems to have taken the idea on. I think increased weight was a factor and the nightmare of trying to get it through the crash tests.
The over lapping wing doors seem to do the same job and first appeared in production cars last yr I think. The rear door closes first, then the front door over laps to create the pillar strength required.
I wonder how long it took the choreographer to get the actors trained for that sideways leg swing and pivot on the butt to get in and out of the car, the one where the two ladies get out together is definitely a choreographed movement, they are perfectly timed to make each move in unison  I need the arm rest to hold me up to get in or out of a vehicle so I doubt I'd be any good with a vehicle like that.
