Pre-Rally sites (Murray Bridge)

Post by BruceS »

I've has a discussion with the manager of a caravan park that is in close proximity to the rally site in Murray Bridge in regards to fees for those who arrive a little early or wish to stay a bit longer in the area.
A lot will depend on how many take advantage of any offer.
Initially it is $10 a night with use of toilet/showers & $9 extra a night for power.
If many indicate they'll be 'in it' I'd think it might be less.
Also if quite a few will be involved he will "put a pig on the huge spit' at his cost.........
There is a HUGE area available & it is a short stroll to the River.
Any interest at this early stage?
Perhaps an indication by a poll? (I'll leave it open for future votes)
Your votes can be changed.

I have an update of information and a VERY firm commitment by the Caravan Park to give us/me a quote and stick to that quote.
There will be a requirement for anyone accepting this offer to confirm they are a CMCA financial member. (full or partial!)
The caravan park has a new name and new owners.
It WAS previously known as ""Long Island Caravan Park and Marina""
It is now called ""Murray Bridge Tourist Park"", & I've heard it called ""Murray Bridge Caravan Park"" on the local radio station.

Driving directions to Owl Dr, Murray Bridge SA 5253 (Rally site) from the Caravan Park at
100 Roper Rd
Murray Bridge SA 5253 (Caravan Park) 1.9km = 4min
1. Head south-west on Roper Rd towards Edith Mary Dr
650 m
2. Take the 2nd left onto Parkview Dr
Go through 1 roundabout
500 m
3. Turn left towards Robin St
110 m
4. Turn right towards Robin St
260 m
5. At the roundabout, continue straight onto Robin St
270 m
6. Turn left onto Owl Dr
95 m

Unless many, many accept this offer, everyone will be parked on watered, green lawns.
Use of shower/toilet block will be allowed. (for unpowered sites)
Use of laundry will be allowed. (4 modern machines, coin in slot etc) (for unpowered sites)
There will be no limit on number of days stayed.

COSTS
Unpowered sites = $10 per night per van/motorhome.
Powered sites = $20 per night per van/motorhome.

There is a "Camp Kitchen" on site with a big barbecue which would be available. (evening get togethers/happy hours??)
As the event gets closer I'd appreciate an update by those intending to take up this offer.
I suggest you don't book direct if you want to get this offer. (new staff might not offer you this price)
Please update your vote on the poll as you make up your minds.
Please ask questions if needed.......
