"Do Not Overtake" signs

Post by Keith Morris »

"tanks" here---
For your general information---
I have recently purchased DO NOT OVERTAKE TURNING VEHICLE" signs for the unit.
The blitz on caravans and motor-homes by the road law enforcers brings a heavy fine.
In my recent trip from East to West I heard a few stories where drivers had been hit with an Infringement Notice for not having a sign on the back of their van.
This link is where I got my signs and the price and quality was good. The signs are reflective "diamond" material and have an adhesive back.
I suggested to the supplier that he post a note on this Forum. He also makes Custom Signs to your design and his prices and artwork are reasonable..

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

All rumers Keith, It is not law that you must have them [NSW] if over 7.5 m overall.
But if you don't have them and you use two lanes say on a roundabout and have a prang "you are in the wrong" but if you have them then the other party is in the wrong.
Also the signs [NSW] must be an approved one with that written on it.

Correct - you can have them (over 7.5m) but you don't have to have them. If you choose to have them you can take advantage of the rule that allows , e.g., turning left from part way into the right lane. You can't have them if your total length is not 7.5m.

And the signs don't always work, either!
Had several idiots try to pass on the inside & honk when I squeezed them out!

I've got signs (AS approved, reflective) on both Girt's rear bumper (full width!), AND on the rear of Jim's trailer!

Idiot-proof they are not. If people choose to ignore the warning and/or don't know the road rules applying...
