Hi all, Well I am in Melbourne and not by choice the van has to go into Jayco at Dandenong on 20 Jan for 2 weeks may be longer depending, the roof to be replaced and the slide out to be repaired.
The last service agent pointed out that someone had been walking on the roof and has damaged it and if not repaired now it will be a problem in the long term, the slide doesn't sit level so needs to be pulled out and refitted.
The dealership has taken responsibility for the roof damaged and the slide out is warranty, all good there, whats not good is that everything has to come out off the van and into storage and the buggerizing around that comes with that and finding accommodation in Melb. over the peak period.
So the best that I could come up with is 6 days in the van at Werribee south caravan park = $204 then the van goes in to Jayco and I move into a cabin for 2 weeks = $1540 + extra for linen ( extra for bloody sheets ) the dogs go into Kennels x 2 weeks = $770 twin share + $10 per day for each dog if I want them exercised , now I have been told this will be paid for ( trust me we sell caravans ) by the dealership and Jayco ( and yes there's a but ) but I have to pay up front and it doesn't take in meals while i'm in the cabin and I tremble at the thought of how much extra for pots and pans plates etc, it's all enough to make young Packer think it would be cheaper just to buy the place.
Cheers from the soon to be broke and in the street peterf

I shall do some checking around for you. Does the distance matter for those 2 weeks??

Peter, have you looked at Tooradin CP? It's a darn site nearer to Dandenong than Werribee and you don't have to use the toll road.
The caravan park we have as a base is in Grantville, further away. Tooradin is quite a nice little place.
Even Grantville is closer than Werribee, and we could probably loan you some plates etc. We have two of everything. Three of some things! They also have cabins here....French View CP...don't know how much they are though.
We leave for our trip north the first week in February, if you're still here then we can leave you a key to our place to drop off the stuff we loan you...
If we can help, just pm me and we'll see what we can do
Cheers
