You think it's dry here sometimes

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

You think it's dry here sometimes

http://www.buzzfeed.com/alexnaidus/cali ... nhAyDMVg5X You can see why the Americans are finally taking climate change seriously. This is part of an email sent to me recently
Yes, it is that bad here in Catherine North. Only thing, we’re trying to water almost the entire population of Oz in just one state, which is, after all, mostly an irrigated desert. In our immediate area we’re losing hundreds of big trees, dying for lack of water. Next could come urban firestorms like they’ve had in Canberra, etc.

In the long term (and this looks like it won’t pass soon), we might have to move whole populations to other states because this many can’t live on the available water. But who among the other 49 (many of whom have their own drought problems) would be willing to accept the refugees?

Or quickly run up a bunch of de-sal plants? With whose money?

Or build giant pipelines from other states? Ditto, and where’d we find other states willing to donate?

Or run in millions of water-filled tank cars? Ditto and ditto.

Perhaps we should quietly relocate to Northern NSW? Or just figure that by the time it gets that bad we’ll have checked out anyway?
So, next time you here someone bashing a govt for building a de-sal plant, drag up this image in your mind and see if you agree that it was a waste of money, I bet these people wouldn't agree

That's the trouble, isn't it. They get bashed if they have the balls and actually build it, or they get bashed for not building it ten years ago when it is now dry. Apart from the small fact that they do get a bunch of entitlements/allowances who would want to be in politics.

Yup.
Remarkable contrast pix.
Maybe Tony Abbot should visit California, and tell the good citizens there that climate change is a myth...
as is their water shortage.

It pays to remember:
When Noah built the Ark, it wasn't raining...
