But it is being leased to the CMCA so I assume it will be one of their private sites so only available for their members.

I do not wish to be an apologist for the CMCA, but I think the direction is different than the past, maybe it is time to consider rejoining, we did, simply because, as the biggest it is getting more done than all the other clubs put together ?

Had to laugh at the 7 local news item, Arthur Gubden
it's Arthur Bugden I think.... and he is looking well. Anyone else recognise him in another photo?

Re: ? Good news for Bundaberg
Think it is well & truly worth the $44 per year to be a member of CMCA, the club has always been trying to improve conditions for travellers in the 10+ years that we have been members & it is great that they are now setting up camps for members only, definitely the more members the more grunt to fight for freedom camping.

Re: ? Good news for Bundaberg
Are we still going to call it "freedom camping" when it's NOT free?
Council parking in Kingston is free but that provided by CMCA isn't free.
They can lose many thousands on holding rallies but aren't allowed to lose a dollar on camping?
It's either cost recovery or it isn't!

I don't think that "freedom camping" ever meant free camping. It is the "freedom" to choose where you want to camp. Whilst I agree with your comment re the rallies (as a non attender), I still have no problem with the small charge that we have to make.BruceS wrote:Are we still going to call it "freedom camping" when it's NOT free?

I certainly hope that that is the case. The CMCA is only 'small' compared to the combined number of caravan clubs and members, yet seems to be doing all the work. Still waiting to come upon a dump point sponsored by a caravan club.homeless wrote:But it is being leased to the CMCA so I assume it will be one of their private sites so only available for their members.
