New computer having signing in problems.

Post by Chuck »

The previous Toshiba was good until it had a coronary infartation!

This new laptop - Asus somethingoruther notebook thingy was good to start with... but ... a few days ago something popped up on a blue screen, giving about 3 or 4 options. I really didn't get a good look at it coz as my brain rgistered there was a problem of some sort my right hand holding the mouse activated it's own brain & clicked on one of the options. Duh !!

The screen went blank & appeared to have died, but about 15 seconds later the pooter re-activated itself & all seemed to working fine.

Still have no idea what the original problem was.

Have now noticed that whenever I visit this or other places I regularly check out I need to fill in the user name/password each time.

Is that a problem at my computer or the other end?

Probably the computer is set to "not accept cookies". You need to accept cookies for the site to remember you each time you connect.

No Wayne. Anzacs made biscuits. Americans make cookies.

Chuck are you using Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome?
Go to Control Panel, Internet Options & then look in Security tab & either set as default or move the slider down till it works for you...

If you're still struggling, Google "how do I accept cookies in (insert your browser name)?"

The control panel here is so different to the one I was used to on XP/W7... can't find a bloody thing.
