Lomgitude and Latitude co-ordinates.

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Lomgitude and Latitude co-ordinates.

Post by Kelvin12 »

G'Day All,

Can someone explain how to use the longitude and latitude co-ordinates from the Camps books into a Tom Tom GPS. Tried a few times but no luck or is this the way you use them.

We do this quite often. Can you explain the problem in a bit more detail? I.e. Do you get the "invalid coord" message or something else?

G'day Lesley,

When I put in the co-ordinates the figures change from what I put in. No codes or messages just the new figures in black but they are not mine.

Lomgitude and Latitude co-ordinates.

Okay. Just had a little play to see if I could work out your problem. The co-ords in CAW are degrees, minutes and seconds. So you need to enter as e.g. S26 (degrees symbol which my iPad doesn't have - small o superscript) followed by 38'15" then E144 (degrees symbol) 47'48"

Is that how you are doing it?

BTW, you can download the CAW8 POIs to your Tom Tom for about $20 at
http://www.campsaustraliawide.com/shop/camps-8-gps-poi/

It's a simple process but not much good if you only have the CAW 6 book.

We have the CAW8 POIs on both the Tom Tom and HN7.

Hope that helps but if not please ask more ??s.

Better reception today at Echuca, cold wet and muddy, very muddy. Will give the co-ordinates another shot today.

What is CAW by the way. I am using TomTom.

Thanks for the input crew, really good to get assistance so quickly.

SUCCESS, and it wasn't all that hard...Lol. Should have seen that it needed the degree, minutes, seconds included. i Having a little test run with it this morning.

Bill, what do you mean cold, its a beautiful sunny barmy day here. Bit nippy overnight but great now.
