Need some advice here.......Mate around the road his solar 3kw system has stopped working .(the controller)
local lecky said its buggered . Is there a way of repairing these he's looking at three grand for a new one .
Being solid state I would think it would be replace a component and bob' your uncle ?
But what would I know .

Bernie if it was a company install, I'm sure it'd be under warranty or at least repairable.
You might need to find out Make/model/size/installer details.

Its as usual Bruce out of warranty .
Next time I'm talking to him (weekend maybe) I will get some info .

If it's a Sunny Boy unit, they do have replacement boards available, if it's an unkown brand then try Google but it may be just a piece of rubbished bought cheap and sold at an inflated price to cover replacements during the warranty period.

Here's the details , he has had another controller installed thru the week is a Sunny Boy Terry .

There is an Australian service centre for the JFY inverters http://jfytech.com.au/service/ so it might be worth contacting them regarding servicing that unit and keep it for a spare or sell it.
