Doctors Visit

Had to get melanoma removed from the top of my ear this morning .The doctor said it is a result os years of truck driving with the sun hitting the ear all the time.So take the time to get checked I didn't until it was getting sore to touch or lay in bed with that ear on the pillow.

Year right most likely putting your ear to a wall listening to what ever .. Hope all is ok xx

Phil not to do with me directly, but I had a Dr tell me a similar thing regarding the right arm of truckies and taxi drivers.

As we get older, anything health wise that changes should be checked out.......just to be sure all is OK.

How did he do the ear Phil, freeze it, cut it out, or an ointment ?

It was roughly 10mm in size and bloody hell did the needle let me know I was alive. Just waiting on the pathology report to come back.

Oh wow so we might even have our own Van-Go My lovely Dr uses those tampon things like the dentist use to deaden the spot before using the needle

Melanoma is like a sore tooth.

The longer you leave it, the worse it gets.


I've had one removed and had the second cut plus the lymph removed to check if it hadn't escaped. Was a simple looking mark the size of your small fingernail that subtly changed over few weeks.

Saw a program on SBS recently were they cured cancer in a guy using the herpes virus, modified 2 of the genes and injected directly into the tumor in his neck, supposed to have a series of 4 injections but they only gave him 3 as the lump had melted away. Still cancer free 5 years later.
Next they want to try it on is melanomas, some amazing stuff happening in cancer treatment, a lot of it in this country.

Lance it was cut out which makes it hard to have a shower and keep it dry for a few days. Maybe put a bag over my head. I got that in before Dot could comeback with something smart

I didn't know there were multiple uses for tampons, although I'd be a bit hesitant to let someone put a tampon in my mouth... as cute a it is!

Hmm... think I might now shave!!
