12 volt portable fridge

I have a cheap but handy 60 litre Misho 12/240 fridge that give me a headache.

Currently running on 240V and doing fine.

However running on 12V it still work however intermittently through an alarm, cant remember the number.

Recently blew a fuse in 12 v plug and blew its own fuse, running on 12v.

Question is what type of techo would I take it to , to get checked out.

Auto electrician I'd reckon.
Sounds like the 12v heater element is cactus.
If it's easy to get out you could hook it up to a re-settable fuse & test it.
You should find both the 240 one & 12v one side by side fixed to the gas tube.

Bruce the link refers to 3 way fridges. this one is just 2 way.

Got the name wrong its a Mishto.

Don't know the voltage when the alarm goes off, does not display and I haven't been able to get my head around testing it.

Open to some plain language guide on how to.

The display panel on my 65L mishto fridge is flashing when pluged into 240v powerand it works for about 10 minutes on12v power than flashes E1. Any idea's too what is wrong please?

E1 on 12v means your voltage has dropped too low. The longer the cable u use increases voltage drop. So the longer the cable to battery is the thicker it needs to be. The supplied cable is too thin for the job. I already replaced mine with 3mm copper core wire both positive and negative. So 6mm copper core in total. This thickness is enough for the cable to be 4 meters long without voltage drop.

Use your heavy jumper leads & hook it direct to the battery & see if it still shuts down?

Exactly what I was getting at. I think you still need to check the voltage when it is alarming or showing the error code (when the fridge compressor is running). Use a multi metre at the battery and also at the fridge lead where it plus into the fridge. This will tell you how much power your battery has and also by checking at the fridge it will give you an idea of the power drop.

Ive tried 2 different cable one a genuine waeco.

A guy from the 12 volt shop mentioned something about a type of compressor, forgot name that is adjustable.

In Perth ATM will investigate when I get home.
