I need assistance on how to remove an Avida LED

Post by T1 Terry »

Hopefully someone here knows how to get the inside LED light out of the ceiling in a new Avida Esperance. I need to get into that part of the roof cavity in Vic's unit and it doesn't appear to be a straight forward affair getting one out so hopefully someone here has the info on how it's done

Terry is it 12v or 240?
Some of those fittings are simply spring loaded.
You hold the two springs up as you insert it & they spring out inside the cavity.
A bit like two spring loaded mouse traps!!
Does it come out/down a little bit with some pressure? Might need a paint scraper or putty knife to try?

12v Bruce, I can get it down a bit but that's all, might have a look using the inspection camera Dottie & George gave me, it has been really handy for finding stuff inside wall cavities before I cut a perfectly good wiring harness with a hole saw

If it is spring mounted it may be similar to some automotive side lights.
Push/slide against the spring and lift the opposite end.

Shoulda followed that advice Peter ...... Ummm.... well, I know how they come off now anyway  The body of the rectangular LED light screws into the roof and the surround facia clips under the edge about the centre of each side. To get it off requires a flat blade between the LED itself and the white surround and pry it out a bit till the plastic bit comes clear of the light body itself, repeat on the next side until it comes off.
Now to locate where we can buy a new surround thingy

Hi. We have the same problems with trim clips on seats and door while working on upholstery. As soon as you break it , it then becomes clear to how it should come off. We find super-glue or hot-melt glue works on some repairs.
