Rules trump logic

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Rules trump logic

Post by Greynomad »

Bought some IKEA furniture in Melbourne t’other day.
As we have bought quite a few pieces from them over the years, I was surprised to find that during manufacturing, the insertion of one screw holding a drawer runner was missed, and when I opened the package of bits to assemble it, one cam-lock was missing.
First time in about 35 years of assembling their stuff.
Called Customer Assistance to explain and ask their Parts people to post them.
Girl said I could collect the parts from the Springvale (Melbourne) shop. I explained that would entail a 700km round trip, so could they post the bits.
Yes, the warehouse would be happy to help. Expect them in 3~4 weeks.
Meantime, says I, the drawer unit would have to sit -incomplete-in the middle of the lounge room. The parts are so small you could put them in a standard business envelope and stick it in the office mail.
Sorry, says she, all parts have to be sent from the warehouse. Shop staff are not allowed to send things to customers. 🙄

RULES ALWAYS TRIUMPH OVER COMMON SENSE!!!
If sense was common in this day and age, the wisdom of the "common people" would make a lot more sense.
A person may fail many times, they only become a failure when they blame someone else John Burrows
Those who struggle to become a leader, rarely know a clear direction forward for anyone but themselves
