After speaking to various insurance companies in the past hour about insurance for contents in shipping container which is not under lock & cover- Can't get cover at all by anyone. Bugger. We now have to return to hiring a storage shed for house contents which is almost twice the cost -shit happens in the best of regulated situations
At least That Bank will cover garden shed contents (which will come under curtains carpets etc) under the Land Lord's house contents insurance.
Terri Scheer nor RACQ would cover that for us so at least one problem solved. Just waiting for full quotes to be emailed.
Weigh up the risks against the cost. What would everything in the container cost to replace? What could happen to the contents of the container? How much will the storage complex cost plus the cost of insurance? How much could you get if you sold the stuff now and then replaced when you returned?
