At least now I know how the wiring was designed in the majority of motorhomes and caravans
Had a high end $$ motorhome in a while back, everything was touch screen .... till you pulled the covers off the central control panel ..... what a mess and every connection was made with insulated crimp lugs so half of them had maybe two strands of wire making the connection, the rest looked like mushroom where they didn't actually fit inside the crimp lug .... yet I got a mouthful from the young bloke who had wired it originally claiming he had to redo all the joints and asked me why I'd cut and rejoined them ..... he didn't have an answer when I asked who's idea it was to jam the wiring harness between the top of the metal battery box and a body cross member resulting in the wiring fretting away and shorting due to the flex between the body and the chassis ......
We have another one of their builds booked in to sort it out because the factory doesn't seem to able or willing to fix it .....

T1,
In a similar vein…

Our headlight flasher Failed To Proceed a few years back.
Took Girt to a Townsville auto electrician.
He removed the steering column cover, ran his torch over the wiring harness, then replaced the cover.
“Not touching it. Winnebago must have got the apprentice to wire it up. ALL the wires have the same coloured insulation.”
Said it would take 3~4 HOURS to rewire it before starting to track down the fault.
Headlight flasher is still AWOL. :?
Regards & God bless,
Ray
